Love the way he allows the revs raise in 1st gear, then kicks the clutch to create slip and build boost faster. First I've seen that technique used for 1/4 mile

Bonus as ive just fitted a diff plate to my car in the hope it will stay together with 400+ brake.
Mike Rainbird looks like your trans might stand up to a few launches for TOTB.

good time ...but sorry standard diffs?? LOL good luck...please report back truthfully about how long they last

mine must have been a world record at 10.3 but didnt realise thought there were faster escort cossies running the 1/4 elsewhere

best of luck with the car anyway especially those diffs!

I remember the feature on this car a while ago and thinking standard diffs , but unless he is on his 20th diff it does seem to work. The amount the guy has spent on the car you would think if he was having to change diffs everyother week they would be uprated by now???

Its standard escos diffs, frontdiff havent broke since the reinforcements, but reardiff brok 5 times last year until they welded it.

Diffs brake on hard launch, not in speed aparently.

Are trying 3,9 diffs this year, will soon come some results i think

Is about strengthening the sump mounts for the frontdiff, and welding an reinforcement to the top off the frontdiff, then its fine, as said, never broke since.
Rear diff no reinforcements, but flexible rear-axels

so where are they welding the diffs or is it top secret?
I take it he is running a diff plate in the front then exta weld where his other diffs have split.

if main reason front diff breaks is due to casting flexing a see no reason why weldind gussets onto diff would not solve this problem

I thought it was a safer way to launch a 4wd, get the car rolling a tad, then launch it harder, so the drivetrain doesnt recieve full throttle shock?

It appears that way in the fist clip, but in the last he seems to let the revs build longer as you say, so I could be wrong

i had to do this with my daddythrash footage but took me ages..

best to catch one of the pc geeks
