Im looking for info on performance gains over the 1.8 zetec. Is it a worthwhile swap?

 

Which spec 1.8?

2.0 is a lot more torque than both

 

I have a 115ps Si. im just wondering whether its worth it, as it may hav a bit more torque but only 6 bhp more than the 130ps 1.8, so is it worth it?

 

Hi, its quite a common conversion, and theres quite a few people with it done over on www.escortevolution.co.uk and theres some walkthru's i the mechanical forum for the conversion

 

i drive the 2.0l si mk1 mondeo and that is a 136 ps and ive only had a few bits done to it at the moment like K&N panel filter and a custom made cat back dual exit exhaust


and i for a standard motor it feels pretty nippy to me

 

personaly speaking for the effort it takes to do an engine swap I would want a little more than what will... unless of course you are looking at using the engine as a base for even greater performance in which case I would fit the 2.0
