Default evo 7

If i was gonna get one it would be the FQ300, take it to my pal at MA Developments, spend a couple of grand on it and walk away with 370 horsies, lovely jubbly

Sorry I misunderstood your question i was thinking along the lines of the 260,300,320,340,360 and 400 versions but i know these came later on.

My Evo 7 is 205kw at the fly and dynoed at 165kw at the wheels. Needs to be converted to BHP.

They come restricted out of Japan as mine is an import. Models here are mine which is the GSR and the GTA which is the Tiptronic version and the only Evo model to have Tiptronic.

Top speed is good 160mph once derestricted which is a simple enough exercise and one of a couple of plans for mine this year.

I didnt realise the 7's were in the FQ range in the UK, thought is was only the 8's

Anyway HTH

FQ's are 305 BHP Std

They have a HKS exhaust, HKS Panel filter & a different remap from the Std GSR, as well as some real nice carbon touches and a numbered plaque!

Mines got HKS induction, Decat and set up and producing around 320ish BHP............... Love every minute

Just about to order some rims for mine and will most likely go XD9's or CE28n's as I need semi comps for my stock rims on the track.

Few pics anyway and a couple of vids:

tbh dave, im still unsure what i want to get
if i get a turbo car i will land up spending money on it.
was thinking of getting a xr6ti ute ( tax reasons, plus its only a toy i can also use for work sometimes )
but starting to eye up the 5.7 0r 6.0 v8 commodore utes now as they look so much better than falcons, in ute versions anyway
but hey got until the end of march till i get one anyway

Thanks mate, they go well and TBH should have won both as that is their strength. It can doughnut on a 5p piece and loves that kind of stuff. Turning circle is shite though which got me in the 2nd one as there wasnt enough width to handbrake it either.

Pops, let me know when you come to Melbourne, we will go up to some very popular twisties. Might take a morning or afternoon though as they are out of town.

There are a fair few floating around and are around $35K now. Cheap to run, insure and spares. The main importers are in Sydney. If you are interested go on: www.evolutionoz.net.au which also has tuners and other evo owners up your way.

Rhys, yep a car wash. The guy with the yellow skyline is a detailer and didnt want me going through it. He will only ever use the hose, not the brush. I used a brush on mine the week after that and scratched it to death so he cut it all back for me. [/code]

just thought I'd post my 2 penneth had the cossie bought the Scoob Sti 8 + PPP then went to the EVO VIII GSR then went to WRC Tech and got 340hp / 338 lbs and it was undoubtedly THE best driving machine I have ever owned then I got the chance to swap it for this:

and I'm back in the land of "god I fooking love my car"

just thought I'd add this for the ford boys

Even GSR (Import) Evo 7's should be circa 300bhp.

The Japanese bhp law/limit is bollox on most of their turbo'd cars, the Evo is no exception. Pretty sure a standard skyline GTR will make around 320bhp when stuck on the rollers over here.

My Evo 6 Import (again supposedly 280) made 312bhp

hi all, its a well known fact that the most eveo,s run more like 300bhp as standard its just that thyay have to say 270/ 280 for jap laws as all who have driven evo,s there handling and performance is just awsome, and people keep saying uk spec.. all evo,s are imports the uk spec ones were just brought in by ralliart..but or still imports as the MLR will tell you ther is no such thing as a uk evo

I'll end up regretting it, but the hunt is on for another Ecos , ,May as well get another as its the only car you want to pamper rather than use ( Dry weather only ), where as the evo wants using all the time!
