or his performances in 2 of the biggest games in football, the champions league final 05, and the fa cup final 06, where he basically single handed won both cups for his team, when his team looked dead and buried, and in doing so made in a lot of football fans opinions, the best champions league final, and fa cup final in history. imo he should have got one last year. just look at some of the previous footballers who have been given an mbe, lets say les ferdinand for example, now if deserves an mbe for services to football, stevie gerrard should get 2.

May not be 3 European cups but he is the only manager to win the treble of big trophies in one season and the most successful English manager of all time. Don't forget its harder to win the European cup today than it was years ago, nowdays its not the champions league but the runners up and third and sometimes 4th league. Not like when villa won in 1982 and you had to win the league only to get in. Less teams.

How the hell was it easier to win when it was the european champs cup back in the 70s/80s when you were playing all the champs of there own domestic leauges when every tie was a knock out none of this leauge stages were you can afford to lose 2 games

I am firstly a fan of football, then a football fan.
Gerrard is a great great player, but one single player doesnt make a team.
There are players out there with more medals than him but no 3 letters after their name, why is Gerrard so special.

 

So he should get the MBE for looking after someone elses kid thats not his (allegedly............)

You can all ask what did Peter Schmeichel do to deserve his? Same for Tony Adams, Les Ferdinand, Steve Bull, Steve Perryman, Viv Anderson just to name a few....

For those that don't know... it's because they are nominated for them and if enough nominations, they will get an OBE or MBE

If you look at previous footballers who have got these awards and then still in your opinion think Gerrard doesn't deserve his, for his services to football... get over it!

to be fair to him, you cant expect him to stick them away when he isnt starting regular, you need games to get and keep your form, but his heading is nothing to do with how many games he starts, he's just no good at heading the ball at goal, and for someone who is 6ft 7 its hard to explain. and as far as him leaving, only if we sign another striker first, i cant see rafa leaving us short upfront, but i think rafa see's him as back up to kuyt and bellers.

 

Not jealous at all, there are people out that have given the game more than he ever will, and they will never get a mention.
