Default Small rust leek above the boot

Hi all, if i open up the boot on my 2wd saph, on the left hand side there is a slighth rust patch on a some kind of joint. Its the piece of metal that is straight and goes from the rear to the bottom of the windscreen. You can only see this when the boot lid is up and is on the side of the saph

As my motor is parked up i never thought to check the boot and there is slight mould on the carpet where its been leeking, how can i cover the rusty bit up so it stops the leek??

Cheers

Luke

Depends how bad it is really, I would take it to a proper paintshop though because they'll be able to do it and rustproof it properly as they do it. If you try and do it yourself it'll just come through again very quickly.

Well I think it's more of a case they'll paint it properly and it'll be baked on rather than just sprayed from a can. I've tried using these rustproof things you can get from Halfords and then priming and painting it with cans but it just doesn't last, you can always tell it's been done, and the rust comes back through really quick. They're a waste of money really, especially on something like your car it's best to have it done properly.
Best to just get a few quotes from paintshops mate, I'm not a sprayer (a mate of mine is though) so I can't really judge it and the shop would need to see the car to see how much work was involved.
