Why do people badge em as a Escort RS Cosworth? its wrong, there is 1 round bolton a red 1, 17's that are about a foot inside the arch, looks well funny... badged as a rs cosworth...

Spend some time sorting out a rep if you are thinking about doing one, like buying a N reg Mk 6 and converting it back to a Mk 5, its little things like that , that make the reps look better and get people thinking, but at the end of the day you aint never gonna fool everyone a rep just never looks big enough as a standard Mk 5 shell is very differnt to a Escort Cossy one.

There are a few reps in my area but the drivers are all w**kers! They're always trying to race us no matter where we are or trying to ram us off the road, then shouting & swearing at us when they can't. They've even started to point & laugh at us when we're out in the car, I mean, get a life, at least ours is genuine!!! After a while it starts to piss you off, especially when we've got the friends kiddies in the back with us sometimes & that i'm pregnant so we can't be too stupid on the road! One day i'm gonna knock their f**king heads off!

If I was gonna do a rep I would put the WRC kit on, that way people will always be guessing.

The only other thing about building a true rep is the cost, you must be looking around the 10k mark if you are paying someone to do all the work for, by the time you have brought all the kit, the interior and all the other extras. If you look hard you can propbally find a real one....... Only problem would be the insurance i supose.

I know the dog legs suck arse!!!! lol Still will be gone soon hopefully.

Yea, it does cost a lot and your right, get a real one, but if u can get insurance or all the cash in one this is the other way. I have seen sum reps go for silly muney, and they have like a 1.6 N/A lump in with shit wings not even genuine kit!!!

The thing that lets teh reps down is the front brakes, normal escorts have the caliper mounted at the front of the disc where as the Cos has the caliper mounted at the rear.

spare wheel well underneath the back always gives the game away, as well as wheel offset and the front wheels sitting too far back in the arch. Maybe they fool the untrained 11 year olds eye, but not many others

Most people would take on look at the front calpier though, if you have the big brakes find its the wrong side etc..

Also you need to some headlight washer jets, you can still get these from ford apparenty.

Other than that its a nice replica, what was the base car ?. how much did it cost to build ?

How did u get your wheels to sit perfectly central in the front wings mate? surely you have to have the struts, and engine mounts moved forward, because i had genuine steel wings on, and the wheels sat way back in the arch

cheers
