Zetec Turbo Fiesta Track Car...
Thought it was about time i started a resto post for my new project, as a couple of people have been on at me to do it! (You know who you are! 
)
Anyway, a couple of months ago i bought a Fiesta Turbo rep off a m8 of mine. (RS_Rawli) The car is a 1 Litre 4 Speed Bonus but as you can see in the pics, looks exactly like a Turbo, so the idea was to use it on the road when i pass my test and in time, turbo it....
Here is the pics of how she looks now...
But, as usual my mind got led astray and when talking to RSTChris off here he told me of an engine he had for sale out of a car he had crashed, so a deal was done and a trip to Sheffield later i end up with this...
I know what your thinking, just looks like any ordinary scabby Zetec engine, but apparently the engine had quite some spec, so i was eager to see if my money was well spent, or well wasted!
So, the engine came apart to reveal it was indeed a proper thing!!

The spec of the engine is as follows...
Black top Zetec (Series 3)
2.1 Ltr
Accrilite Forged Low Comp Pistons with Valve Cutouts
Eagle Steel H-Section Rods
ARP bolts throughout the engine!!
Lightened and Balanced Crank
Ported and flowed head
Area 6 Spec Cams
Solid Lifters
WRC Spray Jets
Multilayer Head Gasket
The engine also came with this, i have been told it is a GT28R (Small Version) Turbo which sounds like a good turbo! Roller bearing core and full boost by about 3000rpm!
I have also been collecting bits already!
Brand New AP 4 Paddle clutch with AP Heavy Duty Cover...
And to supply the engine with enough juice, i have this, an Escort Cossie uprated in tank fuel pump (023 Type)
So, the plan is to build it into a track monster over next year ready for 2008, and then enjoy it, then when i have enough experience and can afford insurance, use it on the road as a toy...

and Rob thought he could have a rest now his car is nearly complete.
the car looks a nice one and is going to be even better when it gets the engine in,just what it needs.
some driver training needed for you though.
can see your name on every novice trackday.

Diva loves it! You should of seen the face on him when we was stripping the bottem end!
You just know the Escort is going to take even longer though now! Wish someone would just turn up with the bits and insurance docs!

nice project. im planning on going along the same lines but with my mk6 fiesta (i met you and the diva with simon to pick up the fuel tank on way back from fordfair). got a fair few bits stacked up myself but not to the extent of a full engine and turbo yet
