Been thinkin about it recently as always said I'd have a Cossie before i'm 25 (Oct 2007) and been thinkin of selling the S1 and 16v Bonus and going for it - think if i was gonna i'd buy one from one of the traders off here and it'd be pretty much standard to keep it reliable, lowered with a s/s exhaust and dump valve and just keep on top of the maintenance - what yous think?

Cheers for the replies - seen your car a few times Millsy at the shows and that, its stunning but a little out my price range unfortch
Its the cost of repairing it when it goes wrong that gives me the fear - i'd be keepin hold of my trusty TD escort just in case
Friend of my dad's has one which i think is for sale, going to have a wee look at it - its a 4x4 in silver on the J, full koni kit, full mongoose and Mondeo 16s - i believe he wants about 3k cos it could do with a bit paintwork

Get a shot of one first mate ,then make your decision , take it youve been in one ?
If not get in a stage 3 or above and coming from a rst i was blown away , and never looked back tbh , has to rwd though

I was in the same boat, I told myself that I would get one when I was 25, and Ive just got one.
I can honestly say that you wont look back, mind you mine hasnt broke down yet..!!

I've been in a few now and even as standard I loved them, seem so much better put together than an RST and i love the look of a Sapphire - think i'm gonna have to get one, dunno what my S1 is worth how its sitting but think Cossie ownership beckons
Defo try and get as much money as you can together , if its a saphire your after i take it its 2wd then i woud really have to have over 4K i would say ,dont get me wrong there are alot of bargains out there but like any other rs be careful as it could be a money pit .
Just get one
Just get one
Yup in any case put it this way ...........
as much fun as u can have with ur trousers on BUT........
and cossie will reep money from u ,just make sure its not a total lemon , u gotta expect to pay summit out on a very old car but buy one for 3k and u will end up rebuilding the whole car not just engine
