Default 3 door steering question/help

As above people , basically failed my mot on a rubber bush(circular) , not sure the exact name of it , but its located on the rod that comes from through bulkhead and down towards steering rack , sits right in the centre of this rod , and realy need to know the name of it just so i can order up a new item , also i take it this comes apart you dont need to change this rod as a whole ?

Cant seem to get it of , theres strange looking bolts with a patern on them going throgh holding this circular rubber in place , but really dont know what to use to get it off

Any help appreciated

lol these are a git mate......they get too hot becuase of the turbo and they then harden and perish/crack up. Ford only sell the complete shaft..well used to, its proberbly no longer listed anyhows tbh. You also used to be able to buy a pattern part, which was a replacement rubber donut and a set of plates along with nuts and bolts. You have to grind off the old riveted plates and then bolt on the replacement. Take your shaft off and try a few motorfactors to see if they can still match it up. A few other people have had solid metal replacements made up insted...ment to give good feedback thru the wheel albeit a slightly buzzy wheel at times.

Stu.

Are you not talking about the steering column bush that sits in the bulkhead and the column goes through it.
