Brands Hatch Novice Trackday on Saturday 27th January 2007.
I've managed to secure a 10% discount on the total price of a day, I need 10 or more people to participate.
And its not a Ford ONLY day!! I'm doing it in my winter shed...... The Cavalier
Strictly Novices Only!
Our Novice Only days are designed exclusively for those of you who have little or no track day experience and are the best place to start your trackday career. You do not need a high performance car to enjoy the thrill and excitement of driving on a racetrack although they are also welcome!
It will include:
·An on circuit briefing in minibuses driven by our Race Instructors who will point out key points of the circuit as well as covering vehicle preparation, track etiquette and racing lines.
·Brake boards and cones around the circuit to help master the track effectively
·Limited to a maximum of 25 cars on circuit.
·Experienced instructors on hand throughout the day, offering advice and in-car tuition.
With the additional driver price of £25, why not bring a friend to join you and share the cost? Remember you don’t need a special car to take part and after a day on the track, I guarantee you will be back for more!
Additional Driver £25
Additional Passenger £10
Helmet Hire £10
Instruction £25
Timetable
07:30 Arrival & signing on
08:30 Driver briefing
09:00 On Circuit Briefing
09:30 Ducks and Drakes
10:00 Track Time Begins
12:00 Lunch
13:00 Track Time Restarts
16:00 Track Time Ends
So with the discount i've secured (I know it aint much, buts it better than nothing!!) For instance you could save:
£149.00 for the WHOLE day
+ £25.00 for the additional driver
= £174.00 Total
- 10%
= £156.60
Now if theres 2 or 3 or you, you can divide up the cost of the day between you. So you'd prob be looking at £78.30 each for 2 of you or £66.33 for 3 of you (adding another £25.00 for the extra 3rd driver to the total cost of the day)
If your interested let me know and i'll add your name to this thread. Once added i'll PM you payment details once you've let me know what you want from your day i.e 2xDrivers & 2xPassengers etc....
And the boring bit............
Vehicle Requirements
The vehicle you intend to use must conform to MOT minimum standards for road use (in the case of road cars), or MSA current safety and silencing regulations. It must be in good condition both mechanically and bodily and suitable for its intended use on the track. It is your duty to ensure that the vehicle remains in this condition for the duration of the activity, in the interests of your safety and the safety of others at the circuit.
Accident Damage and Insurance
MSV do not require you to have insurance cover in place on its track days. However, whilst track day accidents are rare, by using your car on track you do so at your own risk. Although MSV has public liability insurance cover, it is entirely your choice as to whether you procure insurance to cover damage to your vehicle. It is unlikely that your normal car insurance policy will cover you for a track day, but you should check with your insurer. If you explain that the track day is non-competitive, they may extend your cover for an additional charge. Alternatively there are specialist insurance companies who provide track day insurance. Please call our sales helpline on 0870 850 5014 for contact details of these companies.
Noise Restrictions
The vehicle you intend to use must comply with noise level and silencing restrictions prevalent at the circuit, and may be subject to testing before taking part in any on track activity. MSV may prevent participation in any track day at any time for reasons of non-compliance with the noise restrictions.
The noise limit for cars using the Indy circuit only is 105dB(A), measured statically at 0.5metres and 45deg angle, at ¾ maximum rpm.
The noise limit for cars using the Grand Prix circuit is 101dB(A), measured statically at 0.5metres and 45deg angle, at ¾ maximum rpm.
In cases where the vehicle has two separated exhausts the measurement will be taken as above from the median point between the two.
No race engines may be run before 0830hrs or after 1830hrs.
Driver Requirements
All drivers must hold a fully unrestricted (not provisional) valid driving licence issued by the DVLA (or the equivalent foreign licensing authority in the driver's country of residence) with the appropriate category clearly indicated.
Drivers under the age of 17 who do not hold a full current driving licence as required above shall be permitted to participate provided that: (a) such driver's parent or legal guardian has signed and completed the relevant section of the Registration Form; and (b) such driver has, prior to the date of the event, provided written proof of their competence to take part in track day sessions, to the Circuit Manager's satisfaction; and (c) in the case of drivers under the age of 16, such driver holds a Junior Championship MSA licence appropriate to the vehicle he/she intends to use (as at May 2006 these are restricted to T-Cars, SAXMAX and Junior Ginettas) and only participates in any On-Circuit Activity accompanied by a tutor or instructor; and (d) in the case of drivers aged 16, such driver holds an MSA licence appropriate to the vehicle he/she intends to use.
Registration
On arrival, please make sure you sign an MSV Registration Form, that you have signed on with MSV's organisers and that you have been issued with an MSV circuit wristband. You must produce your valid UK driving licence (photo card or old paper licence) or its overseas equivalent, at the time of registration. Please note that photocopies cannot be accepted.
Briefing
A full safety briefing will take place prior to any track activity. Please ensure you attend this briefing. Should you arrive too late, please report to an MSV organiser or the Control Tower Supervisor, who will be based in the Control Tower, where arrangements will be made for you to be individually briefed.
Passengers
Only one passenger may be carried in the vehicle at any one time. All fitted safety devices must be able to perform within their manufacturers guidelines i.e. weight and height of passenger must not interfere or prevent such safe operation within the manufacturers design parameters. Passengers under the age of 18 must have the appropriate section of the Registration Form signed by their parent or legal guardian. In any case the minimum age for passengers is 14 yrs.
Safety Requirements
* All participants must wear crash helmets of a recognised manufacture and complying with the current Safety Requirements of the BSI 6658-85A or BSI 6658-85A/FR, or MSA/ACU/FIM/FIA standards. All helmets must be correctly fitted.
* Seat belts or harnesses must be worn at all times on the venue.
* Arms and legs must be covered whilst on Circuit.
* Participants must not act or drive recklessly, dangerously or in an intimidating fashion, whether on track or otherwise. If in MSV's opinion you are acting dangerously, recklessly or in an intimidating fashion you may be removed from further participation in the track day and/or ejected from the venue, at MSV's discretion.
* If you have any problems with any other drivers on the day, please report to an MSV organiser or the Control Tower Supervisor.
* No participant shall consume or be under the influence of alcohol at any time during the track day.
* No participant shall be under the influence of drugs or medication (prescribed or otherwise) or have any pre-existing medical condition that will adversely affect his or her performance during the track day.
* No pregnant drivers will be permitted to participate, whether as a driver or passenger, in any track day.
* No timekeeping or pacemaking of any sort is allowed on the track day.
* Drivers of open top and single-seater cars must at all times whilst on-circuit, wear gloves and a full-face crash helmet which complies with the current BSI, MSA/FIA standards.
* Open top cars will only be permitted when fitted with a full MSA/FIA approved roll safety device, or other road homologated roll over safety device. Road homologated vehicles which do not have the above by virtue of their manufactured date, but which are still in standard road homologated specification are also permitted.
* Participants must listen to all briefings and safety instructions throughout the track day, including flags, signals or warnings from marshals or any other representative of MSV. The decisions of MSV are final.
Venue Notes
* Speed limit on all service roads at the venue is 10mph.
* Anyone reported driving recklessly or dangerously will be escorted from the venue.
* No paddock bikes or other forms of un-licensed motorised transport are to be used on the venue at any time.
* Food and drink will be available to purchase on the day at the Kentagon and in the Grand Prix Terrace.
* The nearest petrol station is the Texaco filling station, approximately 400 yds left out of Brands Hatch main entrance.
* No animals may be brought onto the premises, except for registered guide dogs.
* Unless accompanied by an adult at all times, no persons under the age of 16 are allowed in any operational areas.
* Unless participating, no persons under the age of 16 are allowed in any of the controlled track areas, and in any case, no person under the age of 14 is allowed to participate.
