Default Help fitting my T28 on my frst!

ok need some help about doing this i have fitted the T28 hybrid turbo off my cossie onto the fiesta today but realising that the housing is totally different to the T3 style

now has anyone ever overcome this or dealt with this can can i fit a different housing or is it a custom downpipe job!?

if so who

or is it just worth my while slapping a T3 hybrid on and selling my T28 and save the hassle

on my erst

i had a cossy t3 turbo i just swapped it into the escort ex housing as both cars were t3

this is so i could use my downpipe instead of having one made up to fit the cosy

you may be able to do the same with the t28 by just swapping the exhaust housings over off the turbos and should just bolt up

may have to turn the compressor housing around to suit

Put the T3 on Adam and be done with it!

Dont listen to people on FT.com who complain about "big lag" when running a T3

Get a T3 on and you wont look back!

cost is the issue here neil i dnt wanna spend like Ł700 on a turbo so if anyone knows where i can get a decent cheap one so i can sell my T28 and come out fairly even i'd be greatful

not that i am skimping but the car will be for sale this year so don't really want to spend alot on it now i've spent enough!!!

You shouldnt have to spend Ł700 on a T3 chap! Whats your T28 worth? i would have thought that would go for more than a T3's worth to be honest, you dont need to go crazy really! I had 220+ out of an Escort RST T3 before today!

What manifold flange does an EscCos T28 need? Does it use a T3 flange like other cossie turbos, or the smaller T2 flange like most T28s do and of course FRSTs do?

Either way, its not hard, EscCos T28s use the 3bolt Cossie downpipe dont they? So you just need to chop n weld a cossie downpipe on, same as when folks fit T34s etc etc.

At least then you get rid of that shite turbo elbow and have a generally smoother route in the exhaust.

mani flange is the same as T3...

and yes it uses the 3 bolt design but the prob is finding a cossie downpipe cheap and making it fit

I had a downpipe made up for Ł100 cash might be worth looking into that option so you can still use the T28

decided gotta ring paul @ north yorks tomorrow if he has a dwn pipe he will send it and be with me fri then its just cut and weld and it should fit in theory

plus mark didn't realise they removed the actuator and that so he offered to post them to me so hopefully altho may be without till just after crimbo but then will be able to keep my T28 and should work out alot cheaper too
