Default Anybody ever done a 24valve v6 mk3 or mk4 escort?

Im thinking of maybe trying and fitting a V6 engine from a mondeo into a mk4 escort. I was looking at a V6 mondeo at work the other day and thought if I moved the alternator to the front where the air con compressor lives, make an engine mount to bolt where the alternator was and it also looks like I could mate the block to a cvh gearbox It may be possible. I know its not to everyones tastes but its definately something different. I thought the main problem would be wether the engine as a whole would it fit in the bay of mk3 or mk4 escort. Anybody got any ideas on this?

I apologise in advance if this has already been discussed but ive looked and cant find anything.

Its cool to be different but can be more expensive

my next door neighbour has 4 Ford Granadas and is always trying to get me to buy his spare rebuilt 2.9 24v engine for fitment in my mk3 zetec tubby project.

Keeps winging about how my 2litre zetec is a small engine lol

Good luck with your decision.

I like a challenge so I think it will be happening when I finish my zetec turbo escort. I was gonna do a transit with a granada 24valve but I prefer the escort with a mondeo V6 idea

Would it not be awfy nose heavy though?

Fair amount of weight in a v6 compared to a CVH
