rs turbo warm up
how long do you guys take to warm up your rs turbos say 1st thing in the morning & how long do you let it idle before turning it off. i allow about 3 mins in the morning then drive about a mile before coming on boost, same before turning it off.

usually let it idle for about five mins before driving then no boost till the temp gauge shows middle of norm. never tke it over three grand till then either. then before switching off i let it run for around two to three mins.
dont boost untill warm, roughly mid guage always drive last 10 - 20 mins off bost then a couple of mins at idle.
I drive right away when i start though, oil pressure isnt as high when idling and especially with cold oil.

Drive mine off straight away, no idling, but stay off boost for 10-15 mins, until oil pressure and water temps up to normal. Drive it home slowly, especially near the house. Don't want to draw attention to where it lives!
Start it up, let it idle for a minute or so, drive off boost for 10-15 mins to let it warm up staying below 3k revs. I always drive off boost taking it easy for about 5 mins before i pull up and then just let it idle for a minute before i turn it off. As long as you havent been boosting it up before you stop theres no need to let it cool for a long time.
start and drive , leave it off boost until running temp before caning it
leave it for a minimum of 2 minutes when i stop , longer if i have been hammering it or if it is a hot day
only gone through 1 turbo in 6 years with the above

in the morning usaly let mine tick over for about 10 mins and dont put the foot down till temp is half way normal running temp colling down after a good thrash i leave it for about 8 mins maby and about 2-3 mins if ive just been crusing
In the summer mornings I let it warm up for about 3 to 4mins and drive it normal for about a mile and slowly boost it here and there.
In the winter mornings I let it warm up for 4 to 5mins and drive it normal for almost two miles and slowly boost it here and there.
But when I come home late at night I always drive it off boost for a mile and let it idle for a minute before I turn it off.
My car has done 106k with f.s.h and the standard turbo from when the car left the factory still hasn't let me down yet.
Plus like bigchez said I also Drive it home slowly, especially near my house. As I don't want to draw attention to where it lives

It all depends how warm or cold outside temp is. My car is always in garage which stays between +10 +20. Basically oil temp indicate pretty easily can i give it full throttle acceleration. Typically when outside is +20 like now i just drive it out to garage and shut doors then drive away and after couple of kilometres it is warm enough to give some boost.
If i drive car really hard and i know oil & water are real hot i usually drive little longer route to home that car cools down and then let it idle about 1-2 min max.
It is simple stupidy let car idle 5 min _every_ time you drive your car if you drive easily.
If people looking at you there is usually reason, i know how fucking annoiyng sound it makes when you try to sleep and some boyracer idles calibra with some home made shit exhaust next your house. Thats reason why i dont idle car in front of garage.
Amen
