I put a silver exide 097 on mine after years of starting problems.

All sorted there and then!

If the cossie isn't used much, get the best battery you can - cos finding the bloody thing wont start every time you use it is

kinda have the same problem with my fiesta, never use it and the battery goes flat, i try to charge it a couple of times a year but eventually battery dies.

Would a gel cell be happy to sit there for a year with no charge, then charge it for a day or so. And vrooommm ?

And what's the expected life of a gel cell ?

That's shit, then it's cheaper for me to change the normal battery every 3 years about the time it will die, lol.
