Camera is a excellent camera i use it myself. Dont pay silly money as there coming down as the D80 has been lauched, there there a good all round camera.

As for lenses you will want something like a 28-70, and eventually a telephoto like 70mm-200mm

How good are the pics, im no proffesional, more of a hobby, i took this at Donington on a D70 with a 70mm-200mm lens

Body i suppose around Ł300 - Ł350

Lens will cost you though have a look around, you dont have to go Nikon, look at Sigma or Tamron, they will be cheaper

A lens can cost Ł60 - Ł5000 depending on what you want

For a Nikon Lens

There is a Sigma for around Ł120.

But what photos do you want to take, as the type of lens varies

IMO a good lense makes the camera. I have a Canon 20D, with the cheaper lense it takes good pitcures but with the 20-200 2.8l the pictures are stunning. Make sure you spend out on a good lense it is worth it.
