My rads leaking slightly and wonder if sticking radweld in it will be ok just to see me through the xmas period ??

 

Get it repaired amte. Just had mine done, weeping slightly. It's been pressure tested, good as new. Ł20.

 

Where did you get that fixed mate ??

 

I wouldn't. You'd be best off getting it repaired. Apparently if you put an egg in it it stops the leak. never tried it though.

Rad Weld will get u through an emergency, but it will reduce the cooling a lot. Be fine for Xmas though.

New rad is the way to go, Flush the system though.

 

i got a rs turbo and had a slight, slight leak, the water level took a week to empty, so i bought some radweld and put it in, it stopped the leak, flushed the rad and engine out a week later, and its still sealed 6months on and not leaked a bit of water and the temps dont reach half way..
but i still agree with a repair job but then again, i tested it, it worked and now im been a tight twat!!

 

lol it's not ideal. But yes, it can work.

I did it at National day 05 and temps were high on way home... But it does depend on power significantly.

 

Indeed........ive seen it be used to fix a leaking WATER PUMP, which it did very well, but i certainly wouldnt recommend it.....

 

dont use radweld get it fixed or replaced

 

You could try 'leakfix' from Chemical metal/which is exactly the same as chemical metal/cheap as chips and will last forever/the rest of the rad will
of course rot but if 'yu's got no dough' for what's coming up in a couple weeks it'll see you through.
