Hi. Thanks for the reply. Yeah will definitely be looking at a modded one.. have seen some super ones on ebay- upto about £5k. I was wondering if there's any specific things to look out for on these cars, funny noises, appearance of smoke, rust spots etc. Also, just briefly, whats the whole YB and green top/red top thing about?
Thanks again.
Darren
Thanks again.

a stage 3 saph would be ideal
try and find 1 with a t34/t35 turbo,rs500 cooler, uprated shocks, brakes the more the better! rust usually can be found on the rear arches/tailgate/sparetyre well, also rule number 1 check the vin plates especially the 1 by the drivers seat, dont wanna buy a ringer! avoid cars without any history. yb is just an engine code red top was leaded eng, green top was unleaded the better 1 more stronger

Jay has got a mint one in the for sale section mate.My old one. Car is a credit to its previous owners & had a rebuild a few years ago.
It is a very very nice un abused car.
Well worth a look mate
watch for the gear box, make sure that the gears easily engage when changing at high rpm (without a crunch). Sun roofs are also quite prone to leaking, not the end of the world but a bit of a pain in the arse.
when u go too look at 1 make sure the engine is stone cold before u start it, my advise is if engine warm walk away it may rattle when cold hence why the owner has had it runnin before u got there, check history the more the better.

As mentioned as well as solid body work the engine is the most important part of the car as it is the most expenisive to fix. A strong engine is a must or it will hit you in the pocket (i know
). Try and get one that has had a recent (reputable) rebuild. Also, the 4x4 as standar is not that great performance wise. Stage 3 is perfect for this car. If buying a modded one make sure it has been done properly by a tuner. Stay away from a DIY conversion. Even if its running right the actual fuelling might be out.
Good luck
