Default Fuse Box

My fuse box has a few melted terminals around relays, I have the whole loom out of the car at the moment. I want to replace the whole box and have been quoted £123.21 for the privilage are there any better alternitives to the ford spec??

Cheers
Dominic

You never know mate.

Well.......seeing as a RST fusebox isn't designed to be removed the norm thing to do is change the entire loom.

I doubt very much if you can get new fusebox boards and connectors from Ford now!

Thats over £100 before youve even started fitting it......would be cheaper and easier to replace the loom IMO

Fuse boxes don't usually break down for no reason either......

Its not hard, it can just be time consuming as you have to remove the dash and all the boot trims etc.

I had a loom out of a car down the scrappy in about 2-2.5 hours, i removed the dash properly, but just ripped out all the boot trims.

Theres far worse jobs you can do on a MK4

I can't see the point of replacing the loom with another 15yr old loom.
Is it possible to buy part of the loom new? I want everything but an engine loom at the moment then after the engine is in replace the engine loom and mangement

As i said further up, these looms weren't designed in that way, they are one solid loom.

The 22 year old loom in my cabriolet is fine so i think a 7 year younger loom is going to be ok

As the saying goes, if it aint broke dont fix it!
