Default Standard lamps vs Morettes: your opinions thankyouplease

Now that it's dark on my way to and from work, I've noticed that the headlights on the Saph are terrible, and it's all too easy to end up travelling faster than you can actually see.

I know fitting new lamp units helps, but do Morettes do the job even better? As once you've forked out for new standard lamps, Morettes aren't a whole lot more.

Can anyone who made the switch to Morettes tell me if the lighting improved, stayed the same, or got worse?

Cheers,

Simon

I've got Morettes on mine, but I've had them so long I can't rember what the standard ones were like Compared to my Nova the lights are useless. Currently looking at a HID conversion, plenty of kits on eBay and they don't seem to be that badly priced.

Get some proper xenons!!!!!!!

I've just brought some H4's 8000k for the sierra..Were'nt the cheapest ones available but the ballasts/wires was spot on!

Fuck me what a difference they made comapred to the old ones!

Went for the high/low beam as with the single beam blub u don't get a low beam....It's a little more expensive....

Words cannot describe how bright they are!

I'd say if you don't want to spent a lot of money you can connect an "amplifier" (I don't know the proper word in english sorry) for the lights, consistinf of 2 relayes and a fuse connected in the lights's wires and with a pair of H4 100W bulbs you can do the job. Total cost in Greece where I am from incl. bulbs about 40 pounds!

I've done this in mine and the difference is huge!!! I'll post a couple of pics when i'll find some time.

Default BRIGHTER LIGHTS

I use 13090 watt in headlight main part and 130watt main beam inner.
Monumental improvement for Ł25 ish.
I used two x BOSCH 130/90 H4 bulbsand 2 x 130H3 (inners), also got 130 watt H3 fogs which come on with main beam through 1N5408 diode.
Wire up lights through relays, hid mine in headlights and run THINWALL cable to power relays +, -
The diffrence is amazing and so much whiter very close to if not better than HID in cars I used before.
Morretes not a patch on above light swith mods, had 130 watt in some old morrete lights and burnt reflector in mine.
Hope this helps,
tabetha

I've not driven the car in the dark yet so am yet to really find out just how bad the Sierra lights are meant to be!

Ł160 aint too bad at all for that, where did you get it, from Ebay?

Was it something like this? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...2142&rd=1&rd=1

I think Morettes only look half good in Escort Cossies, no good one Sapphires.
I too have just replaced the bulbs in both my headlamps and fog lamps, what a big difference some quality bulbs make
