How are the lenses held in? Got home tonight and one of my lenses is missing
They are the original lights as well
Does'nt look like it's been hit with a stone cos there is no sharp bits or anything it has just gone. Played with the other one to see if they twist out and that one fell out in my hand so i'm lucky i have'nt lost both. They look to me that they are held in with silicone or something. I'm putting it down to the age of them and the vibration has caused it to drop out. Don't think anyone has pinched it as there seems to be no sign of it being prized out.
Don't suppose anyone has one do they ?
Numbers on it are . . . carello 640 HR E3 17.5 38628 06 822.700

Both mine have no brackets that came onto the front of the lens to hold it in, that's why i'm guessing they are are glued or siliconed. There are some on ebay which are supposed to be original and these have one bracket at the bottom but this would'nt be enough to hold it in unless it was glued at the top as well. Did they use different lights as standard ?
I have hella spotlights, but they should all be the same design: my S2 ones are same.
Look at the bottom of the spotlight in the pic below. The small black rectangle is a plastic bracket which screws into the bottom of the black plastic outer-housing. (This is normally still attached to the housing in one piece and hinged via a plastic-weld, but if the light has been out a few times they can become separated). The top of the light stays in the back cover via a nodule which sticks out from the rear of the glass and into a small bracket which is attached to the rear plastic cover. If the lower bracket has come away, there is nothing to hold the lens in.

My brackets don't look like that. Looked at some concourse S1 pics i have at home and they don't have anything that comes onto the lens to hold it in either. Are yours the original brackets or did they come with the spots ?
The ones Shawn have are different. The S1 lights dry has are the original ones, no lugs holds the lenses in etc, ive never taken mine out so don't know how they come apart.

cheeRS Mikey. I assume they are just stuck in with sealant or something which with age has become less effective and the vibration has caused it to fall out. Do you know if S2 lenses have the same numbers as above. I think they do even though the lights are different but not 100% sure.

not too sure but if the lamps are the same as series two ones then the lenses are simply held in with silicaset. there is keyways in the glass to locate proper;y but mo actual brackets to hold the glass into the lamp body itself. hope that helps
Alright Dry,
I have a spair complete lamp if you want to use it until you get a replacement, how the fook has it dropped out?
no other damage to the car then....
Call rnd tomorrow night if you want it

Was the dizzy last time mate (which you helped me with)
and now the glass. Apart from this and a new clutch cable, that's all she's needed in 2 years
Can't argue with that

She's never had paint yet but she's not gonna go through life without any so might as well get it done. Then a few shows next year and then bring on the Escos
