Got up late
Fitted the big silencer in a rush at home to save putting it on at track
Pushed the car out of garage thought it was a bit hard to push... Had ran over my new mobile that the missus had bought me crushing the sceen...
On the way the egts and back pressure were going too high due to the stupid exhaust extension so had to back the boost off to 1.8 bar and put a bit more overrun fuelling in to help it cool down
On the way to Donno lost the big silencer off the back on the motorway
Had to turn around and get it off the hard shoulder
Still red hot burnt my hand...
Got to Donno to late for morning session so had to wait till after dinner
I went out in the beginers class as i have never driven the circuit before .
The craner curves are awesome couple of slow laps to warm everything up
Saw Porkie comming up behind moved over and thought he knows the track well i will tag along with him
Slowing down for some corners dont know what there called and im starting to loose the brake pedal and rapidly catching the back of porkies sky bus
Not wanting to stove his car in i left a gap hopeing the brakes would come back
Feeling confident again started to put my foot in and a Zoo rs2000 holds me up from the pits all the way down crainer ( im sure marco was driving but wasnt sure as it looked like he had no hair )
He put his hand up and gave me a wave well i think it was a wave.
Went under the bridge up the hill and just about to come up to the corner for the main straight and FUCK brake pedal to the floor
Did a bit of pebble dashing to the car just missed the wall and sat there for a minuite and had a castella( if there had been a bar there i would have had a pint )
Got back onto track came down the pit straight and was black flagged for NOISE god knows why
Any way got back into pits and the pads are on the metal
You know what that is dont ya
PISS POOR PREPERATION,
Was a laugh though need some more time at donno awesome track
I will be back
I hope Porkie had a video camera

what brakes do you use on this beast aswell

 

AP Racing
330 discs 32mm thick and Ap 5200 calipers
12 " solids at the back

 

What pads / fluid ? with brake fade like that they sound dangerous

 

strange that the brakes went off so quickly?

i wouldnt think i would trouble my AP's even if i treid my hardest on track??

 

...would explain the brake issues, unless of course there was loads of material left prior to the track day. But from what Alg1k says about PPP, maybe he didn't check?

Could have been worse, glad your ok and missed the wall . Must have been a sphincter tightening moment.

 

yes there is about 1 mm of material left
I have never had a problem before and done loads of days at coombe
Should have checked them.
Oh well

yes it was me , how did i hold you up ? i gave you plenty of room to pass me on the left hand side you can't over take on the right other wise you will get black flaged and banned , trust me they banned me at national day for over taking on the right had side

thats why i waved you to pass

when i was at the briefing they said no overtaking at all thought the craners at all so there
