Hi guys, newbie here...

I going to look at a 1994 MK5 escort 1.8TD tomorrow to buy it. Its got 90k miles and has a full history up to last year, cam belt done last year also.

I know its not the sportiest of wagons but I have a MK2 Golf GTi for sporting about in and need this as a reliable runabout for work and some light towing.

Just wondering if some kind chap (or indeed chapess) could give me a few pointers as what to look for tomorrow?

Its only a few hundred quid but I dont want to be buying a bottomless pit lol

Also, what are these engines like on the reliablity stakes?
