sorry to put a damper on it lads, but ive owned 4 blades, a 194bhp zx12 a 174bhp busa and a 151bhp gsxr1000
ive seen all those vids and we turned them off in disgust, they are well tampered with
Trust me on this, the world record holder is only wheelin at like a steady 140-145mph ish, none of the footage there, looks to me like anything more than 130 ish mph.
I should know, on the west country roads up here in scotland I pushed them all to there limits, and 180mph is friggin fast you cannot change direction AND YOU CANNOT lift the front wheel at anything over 140mph no feckin way especially not on a streetfightered bike like that one, far to much wind resistance.

I'd have to agree, very doubtfull that you'd be able to pull one at 180mph, even at 140mph it would be very difficult.
Recon the Ghost Rider Videos are real? The one where he pulls a wheely along the motorway, when the police are chasing in a volvo estate.

the videos are real, filmed no doubt at excessive speed, but you just cant hold a bike up at over 145 ish mph, the wind force against you is just incredible and much more will flip it back over on you, not desirable.
And with the turbo busa, the power is obviously a bit off and on, its very hard to use, the reality is aswell that the busa is geared for about 180-190mph it wont do much more than that without different gearing.
dont get me wrong lads, these are mental fast tools, great fun and im guilty of riding like a maniac many times, but then so's my mate Kerr, who broke his back two weeks ago and now will never walk again.

Cheers bud, a very tragic accident, this guy is BIKE made just took delivery of his new K4 gsxr1000 and bang this happens, still there hope the doc's in Glasgow royal give him a 4% chance, so we are hopeful, bikes are his life and he was a top side car passenger aswell.
Glen
i certailny wouldnt like to be holding on to the handle bars of the busa anyway
notmally the docs dont like to sounds to optimistic about these things escpecially so soon after the accident but if they have gave him any chance at all thats a good thing .

Glen,
Not sure I agree with you mate coz I'm almost certain I remember watching a programme where Gary Rothwell did the world record for fastest wheelie & it was at like 170 or something & that was a good 5 years ago & was on a turbo Blackbird IIRC?
Cheers,
Ian

In fact I've just done a quick search on the net & found the following info:
"The fastest wheelie
is 307.86 km/h on a Honda Blackbird turbo ridden by
Patrick Furstenhoff at Bruntingthorpe Proving Grounds, U.K (18/4/99)"

Agar- Trust me, its true, theyve had more a lot more than 500bhp from Busa engines...
Theres a LOT better engines that YBs mate...
(since when is 500bhp from a YB hard anyhow? can use std crank, rods, ex manifold, allsorts, a lot more std bits than most small capacity cars with that power)
