Hi folks,
I am upgrading the suspension on my Mondeo and I have a few queries.

I plan to lower it using Eibach springs supplied by Ford, but I have been told that the rear subframe's on Mondeos are weak so is it worth upgrading to powerflex bushes?

Apart from the prolonged life, what are the positives and negatives of this, will they make the ride harder as I don't want it too hard.

Secondly, while all of the suspension is out is there anything else I can do to improve the handling (without spending lots of dosh), anti-roll bar perhaps?

when you lower ythe car mate it normally puts more stress on the bushed as they sit at different angles, so uprated bushes will help it last longer.

ideally you would use a spherical bearing not a bush. Bushes allow for movement in just about every direction which changes geometry which in turn results in poor handling characteristics and tyre wear.

Poly bushes are stiffer thus reducing these effects.

 

Yup going for poly bushes by a company called powerflex (i think).
