Default Should I chip

Hello, Ive got a series 2 turbo with approx 91000 miles on and fancy a bit more power so i was wondering whether or not i should chip it due to having these miles on. The engine seems fit and it has never had a rebuild done.

cheers

No reason why not if the engine is in good shape

Stage 1 chip doesn't put much more stress on the engine anyway

If the engine doesn't have any death rattles then I can see no reason why not to chip it. Makes a nice difference. Be warned though it can be the start of a very expensive hobby

No, but the extra (double standard) boost it allows might, lol

Just be aware that upping the boost will find any weak points (gaskets, cooling system etc.) including any tired chassis components.

If that makes you paranoid, lol, maybe get a leak down test etc. done on the engine first.

checks to see if anything's leaking inside

you put air into the spark plug hole when all the valves are shut n see if it leaks out anywhere...

I wanted to keep mine standard, then Chris @ P.E had a word and it hasnt stopped since

Just be aware that in time with a chipped car you will be looking at new gearbox & clutch if you drive it hard
