basically fed up with the computer, almost smashed the thing up 2day
probs only started when AOL fucked up my machine so had to rebuild it last week.
now everything seems fine but cant install my fujifilm digital camera, the software loads on fine but the computer only recognises it as an unknown device etc etc ive used device manager, deleteing the driver, reinstalling it etc etc ive tryed different usb ports, unpluging all other ports.
ive tryed everything and ive fuckin had enough of it
if your a windows ME expert please plkease lemmi know asap
would really appreciate any help.

 

uninstall windows ME and install windows xp or 2000 at the minimum

windows ME is part of the 9x family and has wanky USB support

XP or 2000

 

no chance craig golo, took me all day to rebuild it and reinstall everything
will rather try sort it out with windows ME first then we'll see from there

 

just install xp over the top of me if you don't want to start all over again

serious as craig said ME is shite, infact it's that bad that I would rather use 3.1 than ME and I can't even remember how to use 3.1

 

me is the worst windwos os ever

stick a windows XP cd in and just do an upgrade you shouldnt loose anything

 

When changing to XP I'd do yourself a favour and stop using AOL as your ISP.

If you're on broadband you can have much better deals with other companies - check out www.adslguide.org.uk to see what one is best.

Also - carry on using firefox like I recommended to stop any toolbars from getting in your way, and also to stop popups.

im not installing aol ever again i learnt my lesson. im due to have blueyonder broadband installed next week
the firefox was on my mates computer and he aint had a problem with pop ups since
chat to u on msn, really need to get my cam working

 

problem sorted downloaded the latest driver from Fujifilm website and it now works
its a relief as couldnt be arsed to rebuild the damn thing again
