Right bored of my daily runabout, haven't got the money to buy a new car, so thinking i mite mod it a bit!

Here is the beast:


Its got 1.8 115ps lump, pretty good lump, does pull very well and it handles excellently, just had to spend some money on her, new cat, wishbones, tyres and service!

Wana get some more power out of her, thinking making a de-cat pipe, new exhaust, airfilter and also thinking 2.0i head and cams good idea or not?

 

I've got a good set of 130 cams i might part with if your interested!

 

You call it your runabout so why waste money on performance. Just get it looking a bit better. Get some clear side repeaters on there and some meshed grill on teh front end. Maybe some nicer wheels. These are all bits you can sell on too.

trip computer out of a mondeo st24 will plug straight into your ECU and give you the MPG time etc and can eb made to do the miles left in tank... if you really want...

 

Does it fit the dah console though etc? Gotta look at speedo and rev meter. Does the escort have rev meter?

Coz i've had it a couple of years now and used to the power! i'm only thinking bout performance! As for looks, i like the way it looks cause everyone thinks its a 1.6, so surpize's them all the time, i love it! Mite paint the wheels a darker colour, colour code side strips and handles!! Needs arch sorting! Or i mite get some 17's and gti skirts and spats!

Mate i like mods like these, mite look into it, wanna put a electric sunroof in and mirrors!

 

Yup, what my friend did was use the spare little section in the head unit fascia.
I belive (from memory and i';ve never done it or was involved...) it plugs into pin 34 on the ECU :S

the brother of the guy that has the trip meter... did all the gizmos in his, electric sun roof was fitted in his escort 2 years ago at FITP infact... electric mirros in an escort are a straight swap (in a mk 6) as the wires are already there you just swap the bits over...
