avengerpenguin,

Will tend not to "catch" properly when starting, slight delay

i.e. wont fire up straight away as usual.

Will run OK (ish)...but needs sorting a.s.a.p.

It starts fine so I guess its right its just that ive put this new head on its ported and polished and running bd14's and it runs rough off boost, quite "jumpy" and spluttery when constant cruising throttle

I would check it carefully........check the timing again, and everything else too, just to be safe.

Does it run ok at full throttle and when cold? As my car exhibited similar symptoms - Ford had helpfully pushed the lamdba sensor plug back in but not far enough to make contact
Could be sensor related is my point. Crank position sensor? Coolant temp sensor?
Check the dizzy timing though!
