I've got a problem with my car. I've got a gear lever from 1988 and a S1 gearbox from '85. Ford changed shifter and gearboxes in '86. The barrier between 5th and reverse gear was moved from the black plastic box under the gear lever to the gearbox itself. So I don't have this barrier in my car now and can get directly from 5th into reverse on high speed. Does anybody of you have an idea? I want to keep my S1 gearbox and wasn't able to find another shifter yet.

Did the B&M short shifters (they were the same Escort MK3+4) always come with this barrier?
