Default another grey NMS CVH RST ;)

Some pics and words of where the grey one is up to..

I decided to SORN it after National day, until it's had a bit of tlc.. or it's cold dry weather and the temptation to take it out gets too great (i will tax it again first though )

It's at a stage where the beginning to show it's age/miles - recently earning it's title 'shiney shitter'

The car had it's new engine in June last year at 176'181 miles and is on it's 3rd gearbox - which i have not had to replace in my ownership yet

In the last year am pleased it has done 2 trips to the Nurburgring within 6 months of each other, gone to Le Mans and been on track at National day and has always made it home under it's own steam

Over the next few months the s2 will be having new suspension, engine management and making a visit to Mark at NMS for some tidying
There are also my strut braces to be welded in

Some pics of my series 2 as was in August

Saph wheels with road tyres

With polished Comp MO's and R888's for track

The exhaust is usually clean enough for blinding Noble drivers :rsg:

I had noticed some little specks of rust on the sparewheel well, when cleaning my exhaust, which had appeared suddenly

Underside was red leaded as a proactive but temporary measure to ensure the surface rust which had appeared rapidly on the underside does not get any worse over winter.

Whilst the car is waiting to go to the unit, have been doing bits for when it goes back together

Done some Gauge holders for Defi's
Really pleased with how they turned out - Mark and Dingy gave me a hand with them so i didn't make a complete mess

I wanted them done in heater vents so they would fit easily and would be as much work as doing something from scratch - plus have been so use to getting no hot air from the vents anyway, i don't use them lol

i was just going to have a black plate put over the vent, hence the screws, but mark blended them so they are much neater

Aside from how much i enjoy owning this particular s2 and rarely admit it's shortcomings lol It's not a bad base to start from, so can't understand why i should let it go to ruin cos of it's economic value

At least youv,e got the best colour. As for the last 2 pictures with RUST in the boot near the strut sections.I think you will find that,s your rear CHASSIS LEGS rotting from the inside.Have a little poke at the legs underneath.Same thing happened on mine.Very common

Get it indoors ,so your bollocks don,t turn to ICE CUBES.

I can't believe YOU of all people are listening to anyone over the choice of rims...

Am disappointed your bailing under pressure

Final straw was when Oli said you've made a motorsport wheel gay
Have been looking at the pics of it on the saph wheels and it just looks right

I have always wanted polished wheels as when they get scratched or damaged, it can be polished out easily instead of being refurbed, prepped and painted.

Am gonna find a pair of proper shit saph wheels for the Hoosiers if slicks are hard to put on
Wonder if brad has some as quality as the ones on the xr4x4

I'm still laughing at what you said to RSOC chairman.. that's Linsay and she does what she likes
I haven't buckled under pressure and you know it - i have simply changed my mind
Isn't the first time
I am not cutting a hole in my bumper and i'm keeping my Power Engineering exhaust
- to Karl and Oli's requests
Still have the exhaust on

Think i will get kicked out if i come home with anything for the RS that is not in the form of a trailor to take it away at the moment

Small update

Few bits and bobs done over the weekend, before the car goes over to Alfreton
- had some new brake lines made up, as my ABS has been taken off and some of the original lines were very badly pitted anyway
- had some more wiring made for starter/alternator, due to the state of the rest of the engine loom taken out which was corroded badly throughout

Out with old

In with the new

Dingy has made extra covering for this loom and rerouted bits so it will be neat as possible for me - Made up with it Thanks Naut

Ah! I see what you mean now. The car had an alarm and immobiliser that was next to the coil & battery and the alarm stopped working so I jsut chopped it out. It was pretty badly installed and had a mind of its own. The 'total closure' thingy would only close the leccy windows like one time in 5!

Cheers All
rapidcossie nails were never great before-but they've been a few shades of primer lately..

one is enough Jez Hope yours is going well
Am not defeated easily - but was getting there sunday morning!
Took my full bodyweight to get this reservoir in the seals on the master cylinder, tried everything but sheer brute force won in the end

Freshly painted servo, master cylinder and new Non ABS reservoir
.. get out of the way Kasper

My Comp MO's are Group 4 fitment and i previously had long studs loctite'd into my hubs - not the best conversion and the studs have cracked a couple of times when overtightened

Got some proper splined ones from Donington last week
Fitted them and new wheel bearing on the n/s/r, cleaned up and painted the rear hubs

A big thank you to Dingy for getting the job done, when i was ready to torch it and go inside
