will 9x18 comp mo's fit an escort cosworth with normal struts and springs or will they only fit with coilovers?

good question dave and one i dont know but i know a man that does give martin a ring

 

i think it will mate as when i rang martin ages ago to buy mine he said i would be fine with 9'' ones he'll sort the offset for you, but 10'' there wil be probs not that you would wanna go that big

Im running 9x18 Et20 with 245/45/18 on mine im using coilovers but there is still good clearance, could get a pic if you want to give you an idea.

 

what would be the widest tyre then.... to use with normal strut and spring??

I use to run a 235/40/18 on my old Azev A's with koni springs and shocks, they were a Et25 and 8.5 wide had the spring cup modded(with a big hammer) to clear on the front.

 

Oki dokey... modded spring cup, may be needed. My wheels areET25 to.. like 235 wide tyres

 

the 19's are long gone Nick, you wanna see what it looks like with these common as muck MO's on though dude, fookin sexual

Looks i had a shot of an anthracite 8x18 the same day i tried my 9x18's on but it was 3 door offset so didnt fill the arch aswell as yours
