Default Help please!!! Problem with me car!!??!! nasty oil leak :(

I found a nasty oil leak coming from around the breather that is situated underneath the inlet manifold and on top of the engine mounting.

What is the black box thingy called?? it has a pipe coming out the top to my oil separator.
Is it mounted into the block?? by an o'ring or sumat??
Has anyone ever done one??

Sorry for the thousand Q's but i can't see fook all and its defo coming from that cause the oil is coming down in between the four bolts for the engine mounting.

the black thing is a flame trap, comes from the sump. don't think there is any o-rings

yeh had the same problem fitted my t34 and mongoose exhaust,so thought i'll change oil and filter 2! filled with mobil one motorsport cost Ł47 for oil! went to crail the next! did 18 runs managing best time of 13.6!not bad for stg 1! thought it would be senible to check the oil before driving home! to my surprise none showing on the dip stick!it had all been blown out the same place as urs and under the car what a mess!i knew i should have spent the extra hour it fitting the breather kit that was sitting in my boot! Plus won't be using mobil oil again! as i never had this problem usuing castrol rs!

i think they just pull out of the bottom breather hose but you aint got much room with the inlet in the way. maybe you could disconnect the breather hose at the sump
