they're a multi valve v8 , so in comparrison to say a rover v8 theyre pretty good
the bmw auto set up duznt effect the economy too badly but a manual driven like coffin dodger could probably turn out around 24 mpg round town . mine used to give me 11 mpg round town .

Its auto coz manuals are too troublesome... I aint do Ł300 a pop clutches! Besides its on 0.3 slower to 60 than a manual is still gets to 155mph!!

It cost me 3700 and so far is doing about 19mpg round town and 30 odd on a run thats nearly as good as the RS!!!

one problem mate, the gearbox, appart from taht mint motor

 

Looks nice and well spec'd up I prefer auto on the bigger engined cars as I'm lazy as well

 

i like auto's aswell but not with noisy zausts , infact my rangie , the granny and the 200sx are all auto

 

It would be a bitch to drive with a manual, theres so much torque 1st gear would wheel spin you all the way every time.... its bad enough pulling away with the auto
