Last time we spoke you did tell me what Ahmed Bayjoo was doing to your car but i forgot.
I can only remember you saying that you had sent off a part of your engine but as i have not seen your car for ages I can only assume its still off the road.
What was the problem then ?

29 days is a long time


You could have rebuilt the engine 4 or 5 times in that time

When my engine blew up about 9 months (it holed a piston due to a loose injector clip)......The engine was removed from the car, sent to Harvey - completely rebuilt with new pistons etc and then fitted back into the car ALL within 10 days...Car was off the road for 10 days....


It seams an inlet mainfold is MUCH more complex to repair/O ring - so maybe I give Ahmed another 29 days
Ahmed did tell me that these things take as long as they take, and not to contact him about it

 

I heard he charges Ł400 a day.... 29 days times Ł400.......

Why dont you ring him up and ask him how much longer then ?

The thing is I have phoned him twice to chase/progress the inlet manifold, and on both occasions he said that the worse thing I could do is keep phoning him and that it would actually delay the job if I kept bothering him

Ithought he was joking.....but 29 days later I am not so sure

Also , I cant afford to upset him as unfortunatelly he is the ONLY person that can live map my car........not good

Tried phoning Grove Garage few times to see if Mark knew what was happening - no answer on Wed of Thur...did leave a couple of messages on Grove answerphone service yesterday....not heard anything yet

Doug, you could go up to grove garage and pick up your manifold and get it fixed (I know a man who can)
and just fit it to the car using a cometic inlet gasket instead of the normal paper one.

Jesus, if someone i was paying good money to for work told me to stop calling and bothering him as it would take longer i'd take the item back and never go to him for any more work.

He should be polite and helpful and try to assure you that the work is being done and not take that attitude.

 

Well, last october i took my engine down to grove garage for a rebuild, it was in bits so it just needed inspecting and the machine work done and fitted back together, mark said he needed Ł2k for parts which i gave him also.............come april time when they had done fuck all to the engine and he stopped answering the phone when i called, i drove one morning at 3am, all the way to London from newcastle and when he came out of his back door to go into his garage, i was standing waiting on his doorstep.........he fucking shit himself. I demanded all my money from him and collected all my bits, he said he needed Ł300 for the long studding of my block which i told him to go fuck himself. I drove from london to peterborough, straight to harveys with a boot full of shite and he built me a 400BHP small turbo converted engine, fitted into my car within 6 weeks !!!!!

Unfortunately, because harvey uses ahmed too, the Ł300 quid that i owed mark was put onto my bill at harveys or he wouldnt map my engine.

Lesson learned from me....................

 

Well, yes maybe I could go and pick the manifold up, but it's a 396 mile round trip.....and I allready done that once to have the car checked over at grove

I think it's been repaired - I phoned Harvey yesterday and he said he repaired the weld/leak on the 10 Aug and gave it back to Ahmed.........as for cometic inlet gasket, Ahmed told me that only "O" rings would be any good.... Is this not the case?

Believe me I was proper shocked when he said that (twice!)

I am self employed, so of course my customers pay my wages........NO WAY would I ever dare talk to any of them like that

 

A little over 3 months, the bloke is top but he works on another planet when it comes to timing.

Once you get over that you can apply the laws of physics against how long he'll think it will be.

Something else to remember when he says 2 weeks ask him when the 2 weeks starts from

BTW I'm only talking about the O ring work on the manifold

FYI Stu has no problem at all live mapping P8, he just doesn't do Pectel board equipped ones (and neither does Ahmed in the trues sense of the words "live map"), as Pectel never did a dongle to enable this.
