Popped into a local Currys today to look for some component video leads but they didn't have the ones I wanted, but whilst searching around the shelves I noticed they had an old-ish looking JVC box with a 1.5m 6phono-to-6phono audio lead in it, which looked quite nice. The box was slightly out of sight, under the shelves with all the scart leads on them...

New price on these was about £15 odd (remember from looking on the net a while ago) and since the box was a bit tatty (plastic case thingy, bit cracked in places) I was gonna see if I could get a few quid off them, but couldn't find a price on the shelf for them, so took them to the checkout and asked the girl how much........

Yup, 47p
Naturally I had them like a shot - reciept and everything! 47p! Madness I tell you!
Bargain tho!

you do know they're not component leads though?
from the old days of dvd player - dolby digital processor - amp so they're audio leads. probably labelled front l front r centre rear r rear l sub?
may not be shielded for video signals?
if the rest of your cables are well shielded you should be ok.

vx220 - wtf you talking about? The leads I bought today are RCA phono leads x6 - as in to connect up the 5.1 audio outputs on the back of a DVD player.
I was originally after 3phono to 3phono component leads (RGB) but they (Currys) didn't have any.
Having worked in professional audio, I do know my audio leads from my video leads

easy tiger!
i haven't worked in proffessional audio, but one of my suppliers (monster audio - pro audio guys MIGHT have heard of them?) say don't use audio leads to connect video signals...
i know the leads physically fit and all, but their impedance and shielding may not be correct
sorry for trying to be helpful

) I am NOT using audio leads to connect video sources. I am using these audio leads to connect audio sources - which was what they were intended for : 6 channel (5.1) audio signal from DVD to surround sound amp...I repeat - I do know the difference between audio and video leads
