That ain't a -31, it's a -47 lol (think it's probably a std EsCos actuator, unsure as to lift off pressure though so up for someone who knows)

IF its a standard actuator, why would it be stronger than a -31 ?

Otherwise people wouldn't change them

I'd like to know the answer to this too, I have heard that the standard cossy one fits on a S2 like a -31, would like to know for sure though...

No, a standard EsCos actuator is not a -31.

i thought it was longer Ian because of the design of the 4x4 manfold..might be wrong...

The actual bar of the actuator is shorter. Can be compensated by longer bar with eye on it (from Cos 4WD?)

the genuine garret dash 31 is the same length rod as 2wd/rst, to fit it to 4wd cars you need an extension bar.
escort cos rods are shorter (as ian said) with a longer bar,
cheers nomad
