Default abs prob.. 2wd saff????

hi all..
ive got a problem with the abs on my saff. ive cleaned up all 4 wheel sensors and used new bolts one of the rear sensors must have been in too far as its rubbed the clear rubber end a bit on the toothed part in the hub. basically the abs light comes on with the ignition and will not go out..
can anyone tell me how to test the sensors or have any other ideas of what to try.
cheers

If i understand you correctly it sounds like you have put the sensor to far in the bracket and the wheel has taken the end off the sensor. This would cause the abs light to come on the dash as it wont be picking up the frequency from the sensor. Im sure you will need a new sensor mate!!

They should have an air gap between the sensor and the wheel of about 0.75mm, atleast on the trains they do lol. Same basic principle!!

If it didn't work before you changed the sensors you may have a wiring fault elsewhere - my ABS problem's at the multiplug - wiggle it, and relays tick in and out and eventually the ABS turns 'on'.

it was all working fine before. when i had this problem in the past i just cleaned the hubs and sensors and it worked. the car has not been driven for months and when i got it out the light will not turn off. the brakes feel fine tho.. so i cleaned the hubs and sensors replaced the bolts and still not working but i think i pushed one of the rear sensors in too far as it made a noise when the wheel turned and ive now seen that ive broke a sensor..
