BMW's both superb, neither has needed so much as a top up of oil/water or any tools under the bonnet but 2.5 months ago I got made redundant then last week started a new role paying nearly twice as much as before and have to choose a company car in the new role with very strict criteria, so the idea was to sell both beemers and buy the missus summat decent with the cash. Looked at Honda Civic Type-R's but she would just never get the use out of one, and with all the car jacking shit going on with them, only the Focus ST170 seemed to make any sense! Smart car, well proven, practical, and when looking hard like we did, you can find the ones with the optional extra's such as full leather heated recaro's and ford upgraded sound system including flush fit boot bass speaker and amp carpeted! What can I see, the thing growls below 5k and fucking howls above it! Impressed is an understatement and the missus loves it! full leather, heated seats, aircon, 6 gears, electronic stability control, 6 disc changer, oil temp and pressure guages as standard, 0-60 in 7.7 seconds! its got me thinking though and currently looking at taking the 150bhp Mondeo ST TDCi saloon or estate as me company motor so will be completely back to Ford again from BMW lol

LOL at Rhys the badge kept calling me!!!! Just a shame the Mondy doesnt meat euro4 emissions as there is an extra 3% tax loading on the co2 figs makes it similar cost to the BMW 320d Sport Touring I was looking at which is a 30k car yet only 17% emissions compared to 21% mondy however I have the option of a fuel card at work for business and private miles and so only pay a set figure per month for use of the card whether I do 10k or 100k private miles so thinking of going for the estate for the practicality of it then we can bugger of to scotland, wales or where ever we wanna go without worrying about wear and tear on the car or fuel costs!!!!! love it!!!

On a slightly different note, my mate has to pick a new co. car soon, and keeps blathering on about a Vectra TTD that'll do 0-60 in 5.5 and 155 tops, plus he says it's in a good emissions bracket..... shame it's a pauxhall, but some of the newer diseasels could surpise a few std cossies....lol.

 

Rob chipped 2 TD Golfs this week..... 187bhp afterwards (37bhp increase)

 

the golfs lend themselves well to chipping dont they !

lol think he is dreaming about the 0-60, these new diesels are quick but they aint that quick just checked now in case i was wrong but the fastest vectra i can see is 8.5 to 60, however they do a 30-50 in 5.3 if thats what he means?

Andy, the Vectra was features in Auto Express, but it was only a concept I think, it may be making production though? It's a twin turbo diesel and looked pretty good! Have a look on their site for it.

 

Andy id have new 220 any day mate they look awesome! Fook if they are RS or even FAST!!!! Certainly put most cars to shame on here in looks department mate!

well me cousin has the new golf gt turbo deisel ( fooking loads of letters in it, cant be arsed to remember either)

when i met up with him was taking the piss as hes bought a diesel car so i thought i would have a play with him in the cabrio ( sad i know)

fook me he passed me the dodgey fooker, 150bhp td, can ya belive it

i took it for a spin and fook me its quick , dont rev past 5 grand though

but its fun to drive and still dont cost anything to run 15 quid to drove from newton aycliffe ( durham manor) to central london , and he was ragging it too

well im converted ( well not gonna give up a ford but when they get cheep )

cant fault a fun car like that
