Just on to Singlepoint, and looking for an upgrade from the 8210 I've had for three years to the 6230 that's out at the moment.

Bearing in mind I've been with them for 9 years, I just got quoted £100!

That sounds like a fortune to me? Anybody else upgraded recently?

With Vodaphone at the moment...........

Singlepoint will do upgrade deals. Tell them that you are going to leave because you can get a 7610 free on a new contract with Orange!! I reckon they will give in.

I have just got my 7610 and its a pretty fancy bit of kit.

Top phone choice Porkie, i'm gonna wait till my contract ends in October & get one of them daddies!

I find the best thing to do is to change operators every year, then just transfer the number

Yes... its a poker game mate. They have to believe that you are serious! Also keep going until they send you the forms and send them back to cancel!!!

They will then call to give you a final offer! I've seen this done

When Rachel wanted a new phone they offered the upgrade at £75. She said sahe could get it free by resigning. So she did. We cancelled the ciontract with T-Mobile and opened an account with T-Mobile and got the phone for free.

I rang up vodafone on my last upgrade. Bird quoted me 100 for a GX20. Laughed down the phone at her. she put me through to a department called lifestyle where they take into account how long you been with them your bills etc and have the ability to overide the computer. Got the phone for free and half price line rental for six months. I think it depends on who you talk to. Commissions etc.

I did that same thing Matt, told them i was going to 02 as i could get 400 mins free & 400 free txts for £50 a month, & they started telling me that they couldnt beat that & couldn't they contact me in 12 months to see if i want to move back to vodafone. They even started telling me my yearl cost of running that tarriff, & told me id be better off with ther taffif.

Bollocks to that, £50 a month phone bill from £150-£200 a month, gin gan goo, that'll do for me
