Spiky,
"Braking" = trying to stop
"Breaking" = pulling apart

I thought they put on 215 tyres to stop the original 225 escort size tyres from rubbing? 205's won't fit on 8" wide rims surley

Because the Escort rims run an ET25 offset on a 8" rim, so stick out LOADs further than the standard ET35 7" item and cause the "rubbage"
.

My brother runs 225s on the front on Esc Cos Monte rims, and it's so close to the arch, it's untrue!

Nothing Jim mate, I run 215/40/16 on an XR4x4 (wheels further forward in arches) with front arches slightly rolled and fuck all problems (well, wheel arch clearance related problems anyhow
)
It's lowered too far with fucked rear shocks and a reasonable spring rate
