dont do more than 30 Julia, otherwise it totally spoils the way the car drives.

30-35mm any more and the car will drive like a banana. Although da kidz at da crooz will fink its da phattest.

Don't buy cheap crap though get some decent springs and don't fit nice new springs on old knackered dampers

thanks for that, il take that into consideration, no pics though? It would be interesting to see standard, 30 40 and 60. I have somebody trying to sell me 60s but I gathered that would be far too low

DEFO don't go any lower than 30mm. My Cobra springs are superb (a few people on here have them). They lower the car just nicely.

Any other springs people would recommend, mine have some none descript red ones on that aren't progressive or anything (they feel very soft and not very good tbh), and they become detached from the top seat when you jack the car up which surely can't be good?

Sounds like you have lowering springs already fitted by the last owner, but they have possibly been cut to give even more of a drop? Mine was the same when i 1st got it?
I changed them to Eibach/Chassis dynamics cant remember now as i sold her on a few months ago
They where a 30mm drop n she handled a milllion times better!

you cant get 60mm lowering springs for a rs turbo 45mm max drop unless you get them made for you what people call 60mm lowering springs are for the normal escorts but as the rs turbo is 15 mm lower as standard it only works out as -40 to 45
