Default Sticking wastegate

As above, my exhaust note is very different along with a whooshing sound (like air escaping), but then suddenly goes. Guys at the rolling road place believe my wastegate is sticking a bit.

Is this an easy job to rectify, and could something else be causing it?

Cheers peeps.....

Might sound wierd but does the noise (air escaping) sound like its coming from behind the center console?

mine had a sticking waste gate not to long ago. normally with this you'll get loads of boost then nothing as it flys open and sticks. it then rattles as the vibrations slowly close it. mine was rectified by changing the wastegate housing. didn't do it myself. got harvey gibbs to do it when he set it up so not too sure on how hard it is to do or how long it takes.

Deffo not boost gauge, as I've changed all the fittings and the gauge on the car since I've had it and the problem still exists. The escaping air sound is coming from the engine bay, and the exhaust note is different when this happens. There is also no drop in boost pressure when it happens...... it actually appears to rise a little...... very very weird
