Alonso fails to finish next race,, trying too hard.
Schumacher placed high but not first.

Last race, Alonso wins but Schumacher placed high enough to take championship.

the cobbler all the way

did you see the grumps alonso had this sunday at the post race press conference he was like a little kid standing in supernanny's naughty corner

if schuey wins the next race and the spaniard fails to finish, he's the winner and that's all she wrote, but i can see the spaniard from oxford getting another set of poles in the next 2 races

and talking of rivalries, are you lot sure the spanish were after the germans?

PMSL i was thinking exactly the same

When Schu won Alonso was the 1st to come up and shake his hand and say well done, now if that had of been Alonso that won would schu have done the same ?

Anyway I want Alsono to win, but i still think the Renault isnt a match for the ferrari so Schu will prob take it

Schumacher. Without doubt the greatest F1 driver ever despite what all you senna fans say. I absolutely hated scheuy after knocking damon hill of the track but have grown to respect him a lot. Yes, he plays on the edge of the rules but the guys ability is second to none and he deserves his swan song.

What an absolute blinding race it on sunday, alonso had it in the bag until his team messed it up. Was great seeing the drivers trying to control the cars on slicks when the did their outlap after the track dried up. Buttons charge at the end was fab to.

More like over the edge when it come to the rules, monaco qualifying anyone ?

Alonso drove the wheels off his car and proved he was the best driver on track that day. Button did a great job at the end when it started to rain and they were all out on slick tyres. IMO thats the proof that someone is a good driver, being able to go quick in difficult condition when others around you are unable to do the same. Alonso and Button were the best 2 drivers on track at the last race.

Bilinding answer, he is a legend and by far one of, if not the most naturally taletnted drivers to ever grace the F1 track.

I think if we look at races where drivers have been able to go quick in difficult conditions when others around you are unable to do the same, there would be one name constantly at the top, at it wont be Button or Alonso...

Agreed,

However. I am not dissing alonso at all. In his own right he is a fantastic driver and has unbelievable composure more so than schuey. We could well see him dominate f1 after schuey goes but he will not achieve more than him. Only raikonnen will be able to challenge but i think he is overrated and will falter with ferrari.

Im biased cause i like the guy but after schuey retiring i feel button is the second best driver behind alonso. However, he is now overcommited to honda after last years carry on and i dont think honda are gonna have a championship car in the forseable future. Put button in a renault or ferrari now and then we'd see how good he really is !!!

I know what you mean about the german but lets face it he is the best that has ever been and deserves to go out at the top!

Also I think that you'll find that the only reason why Alonso went up to Schuey and shuck his hand is because there was an ITV camera in the room!!

It will be the first time i've supported Schumacher, ever! But I genuinely hope he win's his 8th title, this will confirm beyond doubt that he IS the best driver there's ever been!

Alonso has his whole career ahead of him and is a fantastic young driver and very talented young man who has acheived so much already

Would be great to see Michael go out on a high, he deserves it after such a long time in the sport
