Default How do you adjust the mfi metering unit?

can you make the car run richer or leaner off the unit itself or is it contained in the ecu?

you can adjust the fuel pressure by removing the black unit on the side of the metering unit and turning a screw. so I have been told anyway!

there is a mixture adjustment screw in the metering unit but unless you have the equipment to check the mixture accurately? leave it to a tuner to adjust!! cos if you get it wrong it will end in tears

u can use a small allen key to change the mixture, clockwise is richer/ anti-clockwise is leaner.
there are a few guides on how to do it so try and find one of them

As above. There is NO WAY you can 'guess' it and get it right. I tried myself a few years ago and made a total mess of it. The car wouldn't even run after I had finished. The CO screw is so sensitive.

indeed, a quarter turn is a lot! get it to an mot station and hook it up to their emmisions equipment when adjusting. we wait till the tester has a slot free and bung him a drink to use it for 10 mins.

car doesnt drive, thats the problem!!!difficult to start and just stalls. metering unit might be off a 1.9 and spoke to ian at power and he said that it might be worth trying a very tiny adjustment and see if it helps(then will drive to get it checked)
