Me and the wife's heads are done in. Got offered over £14000 for our Cossie against a new orange ST. Dunno what to do. Love the cossy cos its mint but something about them orange st's. Was'nt that quick but heard theres room for 275bhp. Don't know what to do, need help !!
what do yopu really want and need, if you need a decent everyday car go for it
if not then keep the cossie because if you keep it in good condition and keep the mileage down it most prob will kepp its value, the st is going to plummet quite quickly
carl
have you another car to part ex for a st?

There's a 300bhp GGR conversion in EVO either this month or last. About 3k IIRC
Carl makes a good point about the residuals. The ST residuals will be strong compared to other 'normal' cars but it won't hold it's value like your cossie!

Cheers lads thats whats in the back of my mind, the value etc..
But its when you sit in a new car its fatal. Then I look at the Cossy and think I should'nt be selling it, but its comfort and speed bumps I'm thinking off.

If you want to Swap your Ecos for an ST crack on![do think your fucking crazy though]
I know which one i would rather have and it's nothing to do with money or comfort. It comes down to driving experience and owning a cult car that alot of people would love to own! Don't think the ST is ever going to have that.
Plus least your colour of your bumpers matchs bodywork on the Escort

Effy you've only just got it and it would be a shame to get rid but I know what you mean about a new car plus you'll be able to use i.e park it places, and not keep thinking is it going to be there when I get back and is it going to break down ect
I never use mine but was always out in my type r when I had that, but don't think I could ever sell mine

Alright Chris, that car looks familiar. Think you have swayed me. How could I sell that. Better off buying a run about for a couple of grand and keeping Esco in the garage. (if I clean it out)

Know what you mean milkman. I would probably be gutted if I did sell it, but just thought it was a good price to get p/ex. Got offered 15k against a new Evo 9 but that was too expensive. Just wanted to see how much I would get in a p/ex and it got me thinking.
Seen ya in your Cossie a couple of weeks ago on the John reid Rd. I was walking the dog near the crem and I waved, then thought, hold on, he does'nt know who I am !!

ST's are very very good cars, I drove my mates last night ( is even orange!
), and it has to be said its a fantastic car
but would I swap my small turbo STD escos for it?
NO WAY...
1) escos's are the pinnacle of the RS era, there will never be another like it I fear
2) escos will never loose value like an ST, will still be worth very near what you paid for it in 5/10 years time if kept nicley
3) 4x4 vs FWD- nuff said
I know that a new car has all the benefits of warrenty, peace of mind, no rattles/bumps etc, but thats all part of the RS experience
keep your escos

what if you do go ahead and do the deal and then in a few months you change your mind.
can always get another escort, probably lose a bit of money though with the messing about.

Once you've had a Cos you'll always get another one sooner or later
I'm REALLY happy with our FRS, 'coz we use it everyday which was totally out of the question with our EsCos...
BUT
... 7 months later we already bought another cos
