Default Can you fit ABS to your car post sale?

I have a 1.8 3 door focus which i love to death, fast handles brilliantlly and has plenty of space and looks nice to boot....

But i have a serious problem...............I crashed it last night into a ditch straight in head 1st, new bumber radiator fogs and all the usual stuff, had to claim under insurance as i was quoted £750 to get it fixed which i don't have lying around

Getting to the point........i have had a few close shaves (wheels locking) but have managed to get away with it using my nigel mansellesqe driving skills, but finally the car tried to kill me good n proper. My wheels seem to lock VERY easily, tyres are good etc, I unfortuantely know very little about cars workings and what can be done, but i see no other option other than either a after-market ABS system or selling the car and buying something with ABS already on it, which i don't wanna do

Can you fit ABS afterwards???

Images for your amusement.............

cant be retro fitted mate. unless you had another focus to change all the bits from and even then it wouldnt be worth it. never heard of an after market system either.

bad luck on crahsing though mate. could have been worse though

Why not just slow down a bit and not push the car to its limits all the time

Harsh........everyone has to crash sometime.......i count myself lucky tho that it was then and not 20 mins earler when i had been on the motorway

funny thing is i am a fast driver, but i was only going about 25-30 MPH in a 60 zone. New tyres and brake fluid change make mucho a difference???

tyres i have now have at least 4mil tread but they are just crappy ecconomy ones, performance tyres? since ABS seems impossible

Sorry that wasn't meant to sound harsh it all.

I just got the impression you drive fast all the time. If you do drive fast all the time the odds are always going to be higher

Cheap tyres are never going to grip, but expensive tyres wear out quicker

Shockers ok? they play a big part in keeping the tyres in contact with the road
