In my experiance buying an Alloy rad will NOT solve issues with high temps. I would suggest your problem is elsewhere!

I talked to 1tub a FF06 and he had fitted a alloy on his S1 and it helped him with the temps.. but again not 2 cars are the same..

I have tried all the little trick. with the 82 degress termostat and cossie fan swiths.. I had 2 x 8" kenlowes... but still.. is playing with me...

No, its not because of that atall!!

I have a practically standard pre '90 spec bumper, GRS cooler, 2 fans, standard rad and an 82deg Stat and NO cooling problems!!

Forget Alloy rads, get a proper OE spec radiator.

Just get your existing rad re-cored, will save you a tonne of money which you can spunk on something else.
I doubt you'd get much benefit from an alloy rad unless you're running massive spec and your rad is blocked off by a huge FMIC.

Standard. Genuine Ford if the quality is good (Ford parts aren't always great). If not, get a standard radiator re-cored by a specialist. Mine cost £90 and is superb.

An alloy rad may not help reduce temps but surely its a better quality item than the standard ford item so surely if you can afford one and your due for a replacement, wouldn't it be best to buy an alloy rad?

Not IMO. I can't explain why, in theory an Alloy rad should be better and is better on every other car I have come across. In practise though, a brand-new standard is as good as it gets for the RST.

Look at the spec of mine and it still runs a standard rad that I had recored about 3-years ago.

My rad are not a Genuine Ford item... but still.. its only a few years old..

but if it can keep C&B´s temp down.. then I dont se why you should all that money on a alloy rad....
