Default master cylinder

is the servo and master cylinder different on the xr3i and rs turbo? my car is an xr3i converted, just noticed my master cylinder is leaking as pedal gets dangerously low and can see a leak onto the servo taking the paint off. lookin at a new one it seems to list a diferent one for the 3i and turbo just wanted to confirm as if this is true i'll buy a turbo servo and cylinder and wack that on.

As said, an RST is 25mm, XR3i is 23mm.

The servo is the same, but unless your car has ABS an RS one will not fit straight on as the piping is different (all RS's leaving the factory with ABS)

All Series 2's had ABS, and they are the only ones with the biggest master cylinders, Series 1's have the same shocking set up as the XR3i and therefore the smaller master cylinder.

Its not hard to adjust the pipe work, just thought i would say so u dont go to bolt it on and have a fit lol

Well an RS item has 2 outlets, yours currently has 4 so you just have to get some T pieces to make the 2 into 4 again

ahh i see makes sense now one oulet for each wheel if each wheel needs to be independently controlled or jus 2 for a standard split braking system.
think i'll just search out a 3i item then.

cheers chris

Yea, on the RS the 2 outlets go to the modulators and are split after them.

If you're ever going to upgrade your brakes i'd recommend the RS item

i've already got cossie brakes on the front and 4x4 conversion on the rear so theyre sorted jus noticed my pedal went very low when braking then the brake fluid level dropped. topped it up a few weeks ago then after a hard run yesterday noticed brake fluid coming out of the servo vacuum hose and that the paint had started to come off the servo below the master cylinder.
