Default RSTurbo Suspension Help

ive got a bit of a suspension problem with my s2 RST, its only on crap shockers and springs, i didnt realise how bad it was but its bottoming out loads and tbh it handles like a ferry!!! you can push the front edge of the car down and its bouncing loads so id imagine the shockers are knackered??

i had spax suspension on my old car and i couldnt fault them, but ive only got about £200 to spend on some shockers and need them pretty urgently really as its pretty bad to drive.....

been offered a Gmax suspension thats done about 200miles for £150, but dont know if theyre any good? just a bit put off cos theyre not ride adjustable but never had any experience of them so cant really rate them

anyone know of any decent cheapish places to get suspension, or what sort they would recommend? dont want summat nobodys heard of though cos theyll prob be shite!!!

my xr2 came with nearly new g-max suspension and i cant fault it at all. its stiff but not too harsh. ive heard good comments from other people that have used it as well. very good for 'budget' suspension in my opinion.

ive also seen a few people slag it off that have never driven a car with g-max suspension.

I would rather dip my genitals in a piranha tank at dinner time than buy G-Max suspension. I've seen on several of their kits cracking round the spring platform. I know of one guy who has actually suffered a failure of the platform and know at least one trader who won't sell them because of this.

Save an extra £40 and buy the SPAX kit

Those that rave about the truely shocking kits are usually those that have never driven on a halfway respectable kit and compare the feel to their old 10yr old standard setup.

I have had the same set of Koni's on mine for 7 years now and they are still spot-on. The springs are Cobra -30mm jobs that I have supplied to a few people on here now.

They are a great combination.

im having severe difficulty finding spax for anything under £350

the thing is im always gonna compare the RS to the handling of the Golf, and i know i probably shouldnt but thats how i want it cos its was like a go kart....

ive never had any other suspension kit than spax so im oblivious to what else on the market is good, are koni and spax basically the same? seems to be very little price difference, though theyre all bloody expensive, i only want shockers for now and will get decent springs afterwards if im still not satisfied, as from the looks of it its got brand new springs on anyway, though im not sure what make they are

have a look in the for sale section, some of the breakers are selling suspension kits like koni and spax.

can anybody else recommend any specifics? looks like the market is pretty narrow for adjustables, would like to know if there is much difference between spax and koni if anyones had both

I dont think you will notice much difference between those two, especially if your not changing the springs as well. Go for either
