Default might be buying a motorbike next week...

had a look at it last night as it was on egay and local to me, seems fine etc but needs new pads, and oil + filter change as he has no history

done 15k miles so will need new chain and sprokets soon

i offered him £1200, buy it now was £1550res was lower but it only got to £1120

years mot, no tax.

now this is the fun bit lol, the reg is R600 KAT - its a yamaha yzf thundercat

he reckons the plate is worth about £800 so he would change it to get some more cash, i said i couldnt give a fook what the reg says so do it.

but will it cost him anything to change it? i know its like £85 to put a car plate on retention, but im not sure if a company has offered to buy it etc?

he seams to thinkit wont cost him a penny so hes quids in - but i kow nothing about reg transfers etc

as long as it stays on an R plate, i dont care

any input??

It'll cost him £80 to transfer or £105 to put in on retention unless prices have gon up in the last 10 months.

He's dreaming at £800 tho imo

£1200 is about right for a thundercat. Good bikes, not a fashionable as other 600 but that makes em cheap as chips. Just as fast as the rest though really

They've got a pressed steel frame so you will be able to bend it back into shape easily when you lob it down the road!!

So you passed your test in the end?? Intensive course?

Not bad for a first bike. Will seem like the fastest thing in the world to you.

Dan, get your license first pal

You`ll only be tempted to take it out for a spin otherwise

As winter draws nearer there are always bargain bike to be had

Nice one mate, I did the same thing and brought my R1 before I passed my test. Best way to motivate yourself to do it asap.

Oh and I thought about getting a Thundercat as a first bike as alot of people recommended them to me.....apparently very comfortable sports bikes with good punch and very good value for money. Was told to look out for dodgy imports. Particulary good for taller people as they're larger than the R6's.

Dangerous has a point - I took mine out the other day to take it round the block...when the front wheel came up I shat myself and took it back immediately.

Good luck with it all and be careful dude!

Sunny.

I did mate but it wasn't planned. Left the seat in a very 'brown' condition. Can't wait to open her up on the straight soon. I've heard that the rider's feel of the acceleration is awesome.

What do you mean? As opposed to being a pillion? There really is no comparision! When you've got a passenger on the back of a bike [a 600 anyway] it feels as quick as a 1.0 Micra

mike, do you know the milage etc of it??

if its a goodun i might be interested - only got £1200 tho.

this one im looking at is not mint, its had a very low speed drop on the right but i can only see scratches to the zorst, there is a very small crack in the front mudgaurd - but again its really nothing to worry about.

it would be nice to keepthe plate, but for a few hundred quid less, im not that fussed lol

this is the one im on about
